Fall Fashion Watch: Trends Chosen by the Experts

Trend #1
Military Everything! Army Green...bomber jackets...structured coats and jackets. Be on trend this fall with just the right jacket for your body. You can go to ShopBazaar for high-end picks or you can get a fabulous Bomber in the Olive/Army Green for under $25 in PLUS SIZES 1X, 2X, and 3X at Scaled~uP Apparel (pictured below).

Trend #2: Orange (But say it with a French accent for effect!!)
Glamour's Dos & Don'ts always give me life! I live the thin black strip over the eyes of the big fat don'ts! But I digress. This go around they gave us a smathering of how to rock all shades of orange and how to mix and match them for an ultra stylish effect. Two of my favorites are a silky orange top and Solange's front split skirt! Not together unless you dare, but as staple pieces to build an gorgeous outfit upon. Solange paired her skirt (Similar Versace pictured below) with a turtleneck (Love her!). And, I'm seeing the silk sleeveless blouse, being paired with a burgundy pencil skirt! Ah, such cuteness and sophistication. Orange is the new black!

Happy Shopping!!

Fall Fashion Watch: Layers

Note from me:  Wow! I had no idea I had such a loyal following. I wasn't able to get my Monday Fashion post up which disappointed quite a few people. Let me apologize for letting 'life' get in the way of providing your Fall Fashion fix! I promise it won't happen again...

Layers!

With weather fighting transitions from warm to chilly, we are left trying to decide what to wear that will translate from cold (almost freezing) mornings into warm, sunny afternoons. I really don't like lugging a big coat around in the afternoons, so I've compiled some layered looks that will help you peel off and put back on what you need as the weather does its own thing during the day.  Some of these looks will work well in the Spring too!

Layering 3
Start out with all of these pieces (even the sandals in your bag). As the temp warms up, peel off the jacket to reveal the cute dress and leggings. Hotter? Slip away and slip the leggings off.  Way too hot? Tee, leggings and sandals will do the trick!

It's freezing when you're on the way to the office and by the time you leave, its 80 degrees! No problem. These pieces can mix and match to bring you great comfort. An added bonus is that you can mix and match them to translate into a night on the town (blouse, skirt, and cape) or feeling more daring, just wear your buttoned blazer and skirt. A safety pin will insure that the "girls" stay put.

An Oxford shirt is a must have! It can go over and under sweaters. In this case, wear it open over the sleeveless sweater. Temps rising? Take the jacket off, wrap the oxford around your waste and trek on!

Fall Fashion Watch: Dresses

Find this look at Forever 21+
Find this look at Lane Bryant

This one's for my "fluffly" and "curvy" girls!

Legs, legs, legs!! Fall is the perfect time to put those legs on display. Don't put those razors away quite yet, Ladies!  I am a sucker for a great dress. The versatility of a well cut dress lends to its appeal.

The Forever 21+ Abstract Watercolor Print Dress has me written all over it. The colors pop and go against the autumn earth tone grain. I love how they paired this body con dress with a burgundy leather jacket. For day, you can wear this dress with a black blazer and classic pair of pumps.  At night, go wild with a neon green or pink jacket and some strappy pumps.  The possibilities are endless with this dress. Every time I look at it, I see another way I could spice it up. A belt around a white oxford blouse and a statement necklace would be pure cuteness.  How about a moto jacket and some rugged Frye boots like the ones found here to keep them guessing?

Lane Bryant's Leopard A-line Dress is the perfect piece to transition from end of summer to fall to winter.  Where it now as is. As it gets chillier, throw on a black leather jacket or a chunky cardigan like the one here. For more fun jazz it up with a POC. A pashmina in a color that compliments your complexion would be ideal. My colors would be turquoise or watermelon. I found that out by reading The Color of Style by David Zyla. The peeptoe mule booties are perfect with this dress and as the temps drop, a great riding boot or heeled boot in any color except grey would be a knockout!  Have fun with opaque stockings with those boots or a suede shoe of the same color. So much can be done with this piece!

And Ladies, if you need help finding wide calf boots, drop me a note. I got a nice long list for you!
