Prayer

What's the point of taking sermon notes if you're not going to review them occasionally.  I ran across some notes I took four years ago on the Power of Prayer. The next time you settle into your prayer time, keep this list handy.  Prayer isn't a begging session, it is a time to commune with the Lord from a deep heartfelt place of desire.

Motives for Prayer
1. Desire for the Lord’s glory
2. Fellowship with God (Psalm 42)
3. Desire that our needs be met
4. Desire for wisdom (discernment)
5. Desire for deliverance from trouble (Psalm 20)
6. Relief from fear & worry
7. Desire to offer thanks for past blessings
8. Desire to be free from the guilt of sin
9. Desire for the salvation of the lost
10. Desire for spiritual growth
